Finding out you are positive really takes the wind out of your sails, makes you feel like there’s no hope, and generally just plays havoc on, not only your health, but your mind as well.

I have had to try and cope on my own (especially with the seroconversion and the initial shock, horror and anger), and really needed some support from people going through the same as I.

Trying to find a support group in my area proved fruitless, as there are almost none.  The groups that there are, are government based, and no offense, they seemed not only formal but also seemed like they were just there for talking.

Ideally (according to me), a group should not only be casual and ‘homely’ but also informative.  That’s when I realized that I would need to start my own group in order to augment my support group.  In this process I also realized that there should be an online interactive community for the group and anyone else who is positive in order to stay in touch and support each other conveniently and also where distance may be an issue.  With the help of a friend with skills (probably the only HIV negative person who really seems to understand what being positive is about), that is where this website started.

I hope this site gives you as much information as possible, gives you a place to say your say in a safe, convenient and understanding environment, and also makes you feel at home.

Positive Love,

Ryan
